Hi Guys Just wanted to give you the official news. SkyLiving has decided not to re-commission MH which is sad news, however, we have been given our rights back, so we can go to other broadcasters with it. I think that a new home and better investigation techniques will move MH into the next phase making it bigger and better than ever. We are very excited about MH’s future, so onwards and upwards my paranormal friends. xx

Both Yvette and I would like to thank you for all your support over what has been a difficult weekend. Please rest assured we are doing everything in our power to bring Most Haunted back on your screens, bigger and better than ever before: more science, more fear and more interactivity. I will keep you all informed.

    The rumours you refer to i can see where that came from and it such a shame.
    I feel a lot comes from Karl i get the impression if your in his good books then your in everybodies! But im probably wrong do prefer Yvette though.
    Thing is like\used to them all. I am fond of them but see what they do sometimes and think oh come on who has got your ear, know what i mean?

    David Wells is just a star in everyway love your Amelia Fritton quote just sums it up so well. Also does leave an opening for a comeback no\maybe\hopefully?????

    I know what you mean, I have a soft spot for old ‘Degsie’. Say what you like about his mediumship, but you were never bored with him around and you were always guaranteed a good laugh! XD

    Absolutely. He had courage to do what he did. Standing up to Karl, Fred, Yvette and co. + the legal team. Say what you like about mediumship in general, but you have to applaud the bravery of a man who can stand up to all that.

    Yvette and Karl own Antix Productions, so they are /technically/ the bosses as far as the company goes, but I think they are still answerable to LIVING for their conduct while on LIVING. if I were LIVING, I would have sacked the lot of them after their behaviour during Conwaygate, especially considering it wasn’t the first time something like it had happened. Then I would have asked David and Ciaran to do a show together, they are a great duo; but that’s just me and it’s not up to me (Wish it was though!)
    They do, he was the best. There are rumours, and I’m not suggesting that they are anything other than rumours, that Yvette and Karl got rid of everyone who was over-shadowing them: David Wells, Gordon Smith, Richard Felix, Phil Whyman, etc… (although they are still friends with Phil, so I ‘m not sure if that particular example holds water) and that it was rumoured to be the reason that the mediums don’t get much airtime nowadays; but I’m not sure of the truth behind the theory, so don’t quote me on it.
    Lesley left them for a short while, late 2009/early 2010, due to the death of her mother in August 2009 and wishing to dedicate a bit more of her time to her PhD.
    That’s uncanny, I said something similar to a relative the other day, “I just hope they’ve learned something during their year in the wilderness, so to speak… To be honest, they owe David Wells, and Chris Conway, nothing less than a grovelling apology.”
    To be honest, David Wells is such a nice man that, in the paraphrased words of Amelia Fritton ‘courtesy forbids him from telling them exactly where they can go.’
    There certainly are. It’s a great pearl of wisdom. x

    I have to admit apart from him attacking everyone i had a soft spot for old Derek he was great entertainment. And sometimes he got good info! but God he made me laugh.

    Yeh Chris did not get a fair crack of the whip thats for sure and i dont blame him for quitting or anything he has done since.

    They do seem to fall out with a lot of people and treat people very badly when they are not in favor. And i do not know why, Karl does seem to be the boss? so think it all comes from him, dont know though?
    Lets face it they have went through some quality mediums. I like you think David Wells was brilliant and the show needs someone like that.
    I think they had a tiff with Lesley (historian) because she vanished for a bit then reappeared? it could have been something personal but watching they way they treated her when she came back did give me the impression that they were watching what they were saying to her? Just speculation though.
    Hope Ciaran comes back for credibility at least and who knows they may watch what they are saying to him as you say lessons need to be learnt and lets face it they have had time to think about it. With any luck they will grovel to David to get him back as they were a good duo.

  • Sorry, I wasn’t sure what you meant.

    I think he was at one point, he was even Yvette’s “adoptive bro”, but I think (this is only my speculation, though) he just got sick of their behaviour in the end. First there was friction between them and Richard Felix and Gordon Smith, then David Wells and now Chris Conway; I just think he got fed up with them constantly picking fights with people (I believe Yvette had an on-radio argument with Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, but mainly with Jason). I don’t blame him, if it were me, I’d be running away as fast as I could!

    That’s true enough. I didn’t envy his position at all. It was really unpleasant to watch, he would start saying something, then Yvette would hush him, or Karl would speak over him and Chris would be desperately trying to get a word in edge-ways and eventually giving up. Shame, really, he never got a chance to shine, because I recon he would have been one of the best, right up there with David Wells and Gordon Smith, given the chance.

    I only got into Most Haunted in March/May 2009 so I missed David Wells (gutted! D: ) but I did a lot of background and he was the one who impressed me most of all. He’s talented, sweet, has loads of personality and they threw that away by acting like prats. Seriously not impressed. I agree with you, the show never recovered from the loss of David Wells. Though why Karl had to attempt to tear down David’s religious beliefs, both on MH and on The ‘Great’ Unexplained Debate is beyond me, it’s not very professional and the classy thing to do would have been to let the record of the psychic speak for itself.

    I know for a fact that I’m not alone in thinking that they should just give David Wells and Ciaran O’Keeffe their own show. Love the pair of them to bits and they always had a great relationship with each other, there were no forced smiles like there was with Derek and they just seemed to have a genuine warmth for each other.

    The ‘Great’ Unexplained Debate definitely proved what my Mother always says “opinions are like a***holes, everybody’s got one.” XD

    Re: Karl Beattie vs. Sally Morgan: D’oh! XD that must have been a painful slap in the face for Mr. Beattie; he’d die before admitting it, though! 😉

    They definitely need one, but, if I were a medium, I wouldn’t want to work with them, not after what happened with the others. I’d need assurances that lessons had been learned and that it won’t be repeated; but then they’d just say “Why, what have you got to hide?” so they psychic can’t win, really.

    Quite alright, I’m as guilty of it as you are. 😉

    They REALLY don’t like Derek, but I can understand why, nobody likes to be made to look like a mug, so to speak.
    Have you seen the Spirit Bunnies clip on YouTube? I’ll post it up in a second. It’s hilarious! XD

    I was referring to Ciaran being disloyal. Thought he was tight with Yvette and Karl?

    But as far as Chris is concerned i absolutely agree with you he was treated really badly.
    It must have been an awful atmosphere to work in from any bodies point of view let alone trying to tune in and use your psychic gift amongst all the ‘bad vibes’ he was surrounded by.
    At times it was uncomfortable to watch the way he was brushed aside. It was like one minute they were all s**t the next all sugar confusing to anybody. And he was such a sweet guy.

    They became pretty bad to David Wells also and Karl made numerous digs to MEDIUMS on his Paranormal debate (soap box) show.
    I am not an expert but they lost a fine medium there! and never really recovered from it.
    However in saying all that i am a fan love the show!!
    But they need a medium that will defend themself (given the chance) someone that would knock there socks off. It would take a lot to beat the Aussie psychics of Sensing Murder!

    Karl also knocked Sally Morgan, now she has been tested and found to be one of the top 5 mediums in the world by Gary Swartz under lab conditions.
    So what medium will work with them?? and for me they must get one.

  • I was thinking about it from Chris’ point of view, he was shoved into the Hub when he should have been more involved with the investigations, ignored and insulted (see also: David Wells), and then had about 6 people verbally attacking all 1 of him. However they try to dress it up, 6+legal team-on-1 isn’t fair. I’m not having a go, it’s just that I don’t think that that sort of behaviour is on, really.

    Thank you, I appreciate the compliment. (^_^) I was gutted when they scrapped the Live in Egypt. Although the live at the RAF base was interesting, especially as a lot of what I know about WW2 is about the psychology of the Nazis, so it was interesting to hear more about Britain during the period. I still wanted a Live in Egypt, I still do. Although, I can’t help but wonder if Derek Acorah’s series Paranormal Egypt (c.2007? 2009?) featured in their decision to go to Egypt; I wonder if there might have been a bit of “anything you can do, we can do better!” at work.

  • hi karl and yvette it would be absolutley fantastic if most haunted was to come back on to our screens im a massive fan and never missed a show i even enjoyed the live shows and believe me they did have me frightened out of my wits and i was really sorry when it went of really missed you guys and really hope that some day yous will be on our screens again very soon luv the show loads missed yas x

  • Wow Vicky very interesting while i agree he was always courteous. His envolvement with people that have blatantly insulted MH\Yvette. I like you think is just not right.

    It is not the action of a friend to kick you when you are down and that is what he has done as far as i am concerened i mean what happened to loyalty? Or maybe its just me i expect more from friends. Okay it was for charity but that dont wash this is a stinky business.

    Shows a bit of the character?? of the man really. But maybe he feels hard done to in someway? and this is payback who knows but…

    If it was me though i would feel really hurt and would not have him as a MH team member. Because in situations where you are scared and vulnerable you want to know that that your team has your back! How could they trust him now?

  • Ciaran and Chris worked together almost immediately after Conwaygate with The PIGS for a ghost hunt at the Mirus Battery in Jersey, in aid of Anthony Nolan, featured in Ghost Voices Magazine; I thought “Wha…?” when I read about it, but then I thought that Ciaran had never really said anything that horrible about him, and was always courteous towards him and to David Wells while they were with the team, so maybe it’s not as surprising as I initially thought.
    They worked together again in April in a ghost hunt at Alton Towers, again in aid of Anthony Nolan, and a few more times ghost hunting in July in Jersey for the same cause.

    Sorry, I have a mind like a database for Most Haunted related things (same with Torchwood and Egyptology)

    All the other bits and pieces I know through searching for rumours on the web and on the team’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

    Now that is juicy gossip for MH fans i wonder what thy have been doing? Maybe CConway has been allowing Ciaran to test his abilities under strick clinical surrounding you know tripple blind reading and such?
    CConway was really pissed at MH payback time eh? Justification?
    If you know more do tell us Vicky but it does sound like we will be getting a new parapsychologist!

  • To be honest, Claire, I think there might be something of a rift between them anyway; Ciaran was apparently ‘unable to attend’ Yvette Fielding’s Night of Fright’ but he has been doing quite a lot of work , both prior to and after the stage show, with a certain Chris Conway. After the proverbial sh*tstorm that has been termed Conwaygate I think they were miffed to say the least when they started working together again. Add that to the article in GH and even I can see how there might be friction there (and I’m Autistic!)

  • after years of scarey nites alone, it was all gone, and i didnt know where. hope it does come back, but got to say got fed uo with some of the people, lesley and the useless brian sheppard, couldnt understand how the orbs disappeared and the stone throwing started, loved the locations though

    Well Ciaran MH parapsychologist wrote a piece fro GH para magazine at last Christmas. Do you think that will cause any conflict with regards his position in MH.
    In that he kinda slept with the enemy?
    Anyway we do need a REALLY good psychic to baffle our parapsychologist whether it be Ciaran or a new guy.

  • I agree with all of you! David Wells is a superb medium and I admit on Sensing Murder NZ, Deb Webber and Kelvin Cruickshank just blow us away. They can tune to the spirit world like we change channels on a TV or radio.

    Deb Webber certainly made a total skeptic into a believer!!!

    Did anyone see Sensing Murder last night?
    Agree with you Tracey DWells was superb.
    But will he return think there could be a touch of bad blood between them. Got that impression from watching Karls Paranormal debate show he kept making little digs about mediums he had worked with.

    I think Chip Cofey? -think thats his name he was on P/Stale- could stand up for himself.

    But getting back to S/Murder those Aussie psychics are absolutely brilliant especially Deb Webber and that Kelvin guy. Now they really confused a full out sceptic criminal profiler psychologist and made him a believer!! Our Ciaran could do with a psychic like that sort the nae sayer out.

  • Come on Channel 5, don’t miss this opportunity ! Most Haunted, in its heyday, had a huge following. If a new broadcaster takes it up, we need quality over quantity please. The 8 day MH Lives were too long. We need more live 3 day investigations instead. I would love David Wells to return to the show, but I doubt that would ever happen. Ian Lawman was pretty damn good and under used in my opinion. Please don’t even think of bringing Brian Shepherd back. He was DREADFUL.

  • Well if ch5 take it we definately wont get a live this year as they are doing BB.
    But then they do have more than one ch so fingers crossed for a LIVE this year cause it was bleak without it last year.

There has to be someone cos at the end of the day people may of thought it stupid but inspite of that it had a massive following, who could pass that up? Didn’t like Brian sheppard so if it does come back new medium plz or David wells back wud be awaome!!!! 🙂

  • If you need a good ol’ fashioned dose of paranormal telly, i can recommend Paranormal State on Bio (sky 156). I love it and the guy in charge, Ryan Buell, is easy on the eye too!!

  • Sue 1 problem with I Survived isnt it annoying the way they break the stories up. You know thease people have fascinating tales to tell and you are just getting to a good bit and it starts with another persons story. The stories are great but should be told from start to finish as it feels bitty but still good.

    Talking of channels did you watch\record Bio from 8 to late last night great paranormal viewing.
    Yes EH towards the end of the year? in time for Halloween? i like you hope so and cant wait. Should be good trailers coming up for it soon which will help and fingers crossed for a big impact.

    I cant remember where i heard that MH were filming in greece, propably read it on the net.. Claire im Glad you like the ‘showcase’ ch they have a variety of subjects on there but i also love ‘controversial’ on ch200 which is very interesting that has good topics..
    We need some more good paranormal shows!! Im intrigued to see what EH will be like later in the year, probably will launch halloween do ya reckon? to make a BIG impact…
