sad news heard tho my one of my Dad’s remaining cats has problems with his kidneys and lost a lot of weight , he’s semi ok at mo ,but it is a matter of time before he will go down hill and my dad doesn’t want him to suffer , so poor willow ,he’s a good age 14 and he’s had a good life bless him ,so then they will just have the one , Katie , it’s sooo sad .

Anne Boelyn has a historic soft spot in my heart as i do believe she was given such injustice , that dreadfull man Thomas Cromwell plotted behind her back as did her own father ,such a young age to die ,and never really got the chance win people over .
Did you ever watch “The Tudors ” when it was on , i literally burst into tears at her death scene , the actress playing her portrayed her well , you didn’t see her head coming off no but the whole scene was moving .Some of the scenes were a bit EWWW hide behing closed fingers at the thought of execution and punishments gawd they were ruthless and nasty bunch in them days , if your face didn’t fit then it would be chopped off!!!!! but the whole series was fab especially with a glass of red ,and watching on my own as some of the scenes were a little on the raunchy side too , so “OFF TO BED KIDS” LOL
Well it’s our Claire’s Special day morrow so we’ll have to find a good clip for her .

@Claire….thanks for sharing Karls post, really interesting. I’ve never heard of William Bury before, reading it, it does sound plausable that he could have been the ripper doesn’t it !!
The problem is that around that time there were so many villians on the streets of Whitechapel and so many prostitutes, times were so hard and so many people were destitute and on the brink of starvation etc…morals and law went straight out of the window, it was a dog eat dog world and sooo much violence around, i bet there could have been hundreds of victims for hundreds of villians of all kinds.

Had a good look round the converted stables as well…it was lovely to think that my 7xgt grandfather had been a groom there and had walked the same floor as me, it gave me a buzz.

Had a good read up of her life yesterday and i think she was very misjudged, she insisted on her innocence right to the ens=d and even to her personal priest who she had known all her life, he was in no doubt at all that she was innocent and that it was Thomas Cromwell who plotted her downfall as she and him were enemies .
I guess we will never know the truth, but i DO know that the library where her spirit is supposedly seen wasn’t even built when she was alive, although the old tudor house was built on the 17th century house that is there now so maybe the library was in the position of the room she was born in ????..maybe ???

William Henry Bury was good with a knife, in more ways than one. Several women of the East End section of London were given a first hand demonstration of his preferred uses of a knife. Unfortunately, his wife was the one person to find out just how refined his skills were.
Born 25th May 1859 in Stourbridge, Worcestershire, William Henry Bury’s childhood remains mostly shrouded in mystery. Not much is known about his family life except that his father was a hard-working fishmonger who had little time for his son. Not much is known about Mrs. Bury either.
What is known is that William Henry Bury arrived in the East End of London in November of 1887. There are records available at Scotland Yard revealing that prior to Bury’s move to London he had worked as a horse butcher. For reasons unknown, Bury did not decide to continue his work as a butcher in the numerous slaughterhouses in the East End, but instead worked as a sawdust collector for a Mr. James Martin. He took lodgings with Martin and his wife, who ran a brothel on Quickett Street.
Eventually he met his future wife, 32 year-old, Ellen Elliot. Ellen was an employee at the brothel and fell head over heels in love with the underachieving Bury. They married shortly after meeting and set up their own lodgings with money that had been inherited by Ellen through an aunt’s death. Bury, a drunkard, thief, and renowned pervert, took great interest in his wife’s money, spending most of it on alcohol and prostitutes.
Eventually, Bury’s drinking and hatred for women became uncontrollable. Prostitutes were the only women he could relate to due to the fact that, with many of them, their self-esteem was as low as his own.
In February of 1888, Bury’s violence erupted when he attacked a 38-year-old woman named Annie Millwood in Spitalfields. He used his trusty knife to slash the woman’s legs and genitals, fortunately she survived, as did Ada Wilson, an elderly seamstress he attacked in her home on the night of 28th March 1888. Bury demanded money from her and once she had handed it over he stabbed her twice in the throat for no apparent reason.
On the night of 7th April that same year, Bury attacked and attempted to cut the throat of his wife, but luckily, she fought him off. It was then that Ellen found out that Bury slept with his knife under his pillow.
At some point Bury became aware that he had contracted syphilis from one his many sexual encounters with the βladies of the nightβ of the East End and had proceeded to infect his wife. The fact that he had syphilis contributes to what would happen in the months to follow.
On 20th December 1888, Bury graduated to murder. In the early hours of the morning he cornered a young woman, Rose Mylett, and violently attacked her, as he had not brought his trusty knife along he opted to strangle her slowly, after which he dumped her body in Clarke’s Yard, a short walk from his home.
In January 1889, the Bury’s relocated to the town of Dundee. Bury had lied to his wife about a work that he supposedly had in Dundee. The real reason for leaving London was to escape of the heat that was being for brought on him for the murder and two previous attempted murders.
On 5th February 1889, Bury attacked Ellen again, in the basement of their flat in Dundee, but this time he succeeded and strangled the life out of her with a piece of rope. Lying on her back, he used his knife to slice open her abdomen and proceeded to rip out her intestines. He then stuffed her body in a trunk and kept it hidden in the basement. From this point he plotted the best way to dispose of the mutilated corpse.
Bury could not come with a brilliant plan and decided to go the police and report the murder with a bold statement that he not only killed his wife but he was indeed the notorious βJack the Ripperβ. The police searched the flat and found the remains of Ellen Bury. He was arrested by the police and charged with the murder of his wife.
He was tried at the High Court on 25th March found guilty and sentenced to death. Bury made a full written confession in his death cell, which contained some startling revelations on the βRipperβ killings.
On this day, 24th April 1889, William Henry Bury was hanged by executioner James Berry. But just before he went through the drop he remarked to his executioner: “I suppose you think you are clever to hang me.”
After an inquest one of the Scotland Yard detectives said about Bury: βWe know all about his movements in the past and we are quite satisfied that you have hanged βJack the Ripperβ. There will be no more Whitechapel crimes.β
β¦and there were not.

@Claire Like you my lovely i have much to catch up on , i dd tune in to Jane G last night and was absolutely transfixed to it poltergeist ep with the infamous Enfield case , i thought Janet was very brave to speak out after all those years , that must of been hard , but it’s like what Jane said you could have no doubt while interviewing her , and i love Maurice Grosse , excellent chap , brave of Jane to visit Conneticutt house as well as the edinburgh tombs , pat on the back for our lovely flame haired Investigator etc , thr thing i like about Jane apart from her hair and dress sense and just about all lol is that she doesn’t overact ,if she is shocked by something it looks genuine not put on for affect ,quite down to earth kinda girl , gawd she’s got it going on eh? nice to see Dr C , i do like MR O’Keefe , nicely spoken and he has redeemed himself i think with us all .

Had a great day at the house today with the dealers from “Dickinson’s Real Deal” filming for a new series called “Secret Dealers” to be shown on ITV in July.

Makes you wonder if ITV is the channel oooo risky move imo, erm ITV wont stand for anything of an ambiguous nature.

OHHH the more i read and hear, the more disillusioned i become…. I am saddened by all this nastiness from karl, fred and Simon.
Yes, i agree…if the show is def not going to have any mediums on it then why for gawds sake do they have to keep harping on about them….. as for simon….would he really know the difference from a real or fake medium anyway!!! has he actually had any personal MH experience with any of the ex mediums ???? if not, then he is in no position to have an opinion and is just parroting what Karl has to say, i was really happy for him when he was accepted into the MH circle, a man who has lived and breathed the programme for years…well deserved, i thought…….
BUt now…OMG, he has become just as nasty and sarcastic as Karl, he has lost my respect and that of many others i think.
@Vikki…I agree that the mediums were well known before Mh…it was karl etc who was begging for Derek and the others to join and bring that side of the paranormal to the programme.

I think what they’re doing is attempting to legitimise their decision by bad-mouthing their former staff. Attempting to discredit them and making it seem like it was everyone’s fault but theirs, only served to show Antix themselves up. They seem bitter and angry when the more prudent move would have been to keep their dignity and remain quiet on the matter.

That would be running his own Paranormal group, giving readings, which are very popular, owning his own shop, being a welcome addition to any group’s ghost hunt and blissfully happy with his family. He’s come on in leaps and bounds, Si, what about MH? Where are they with that Lionsgate deal?
As to the suggestion that the mediums were not known before MH. Well, frankly that’s nonsense. Yvette met Derek on his show where she was a guest in the audience, *they* asked *him* to be a part of MH. David Wells was an astrologer in Now magazine and The Metro (arguably one of the most well read papers in the country, you try getting a copy at 4pm, you can’t!) again, *they* asked *him*, or “poached” as The Metro called it. Gordon Smith’s reputation preceded him, he was already *huge* by the time MH asked him to join them. He had an excellent reputation and had nothing to prove through joining MH. They needed a new medium to replace Derek, he didn’t need them, indeed some wondered why he was “lowering himself” to being on MH when he joined them. Billy Roberts was already well-established and Chris Conway ran his own ghost group (different to the one he runs now, I think) in the Southern Scotland / Cumbria area and, if you think about it, if these mediums were such non-entities when MH ‘discovered’ them, then how the devil did MH find out about them? They’ve all, along with other main ex-MH people have had careers since, and good luck to them, they’ve all gone their separate ways and no decent person would grudge them the success for their own hard work, I think the more pertinent question would be “where are MH now?”

But i did watch a GH last week where Jason took his dog Maddie and every time she refused to enter a specific part of the location they got there K2 meters out and sure enough the emf was through the roof …… but i dont know ? π

Good evening folks im gonna have my say on mediums! We can leave the genuine ones to one side,but the ones who have been on MH so far I personally have no respect or time! They didn’t make MH,MH made them get noticed and Yvette and Karl gave them a chance which the mediums took advantage off! They not once have thanked Yvette and Karl for there chance on MH! Yet when they left the show they slated it so they wouldn’t get forgotten about or used the MH name in there own work. As for there work on the show well they all could get Oscars at this rate for there performances etc but I will leave it at that! Gladly there will be no more mediums on future MH,People need to realise it’s a new era and things change for the best,As a New MH Team member I support There decision,Of course there will be Many who dont but sadly we can’t please everyone π

One early evening a lady was driving home as usual her usual route to get home when suddenly she was Flagged down by a lady at the side of the road waving frantically for her to stop , so she did ,wound the window down where the lady proceeded to inform her in panic tones to phone for the emergency services as there had been an accident further up the road ,the lady driver thought no more and turned to the back seat to get her mobile phone where she started to call 999 when she look forward the other lady had gone , at the time the lady driver thought well she must of gone to the car accident so got out and decided to follow her in the direction where she said ,she could just make out some tyre tracks then they got very clear and were heading down an embankment of sorts , where she spotted the car had crashed , with a sprint and no safety for herself she rushed to the driver’s door to see if anyone was trapped ….. what happened next rooted her cold to the spot , the driver of the car was leant over the wheel ,blood out of their ear and was physically DEAD , the poor Driver was non other than the woman who had flagged her car down and asked her to phone 999………. This lady has never forgotten this ,it happened a long time ago,she never ever had told anyone and blamed herself that she couldn’t do anything for the lady as she thought, and told her story at a spiritualists meeting much to the surprise of her husband who went with her ,he asked “why did you never say anything to me after all these years” her response” I thought no-one would believe me ,i stayed with her until the ambulance came but i felt so hopeless as i couldn’t do anything for her ,she was dead on impact , the lady felt relieved to unburden her ghost story , but it will always remain with her ……….
I literally got goosebumps all over when i was told this ,and i so feel for both women ,especially the lady witness , what a burden to carry with you, bless her .

MH hasn’t got a channel yet, Jason, they’re having a few problems in that department. I heard rumours about problems with Lionsgate, not a fight or anything, but I’d heard from someone that Lionsgate had dropped MH, not in as many words, but that was the gist. Ken and I looked into it and there are a few references to Lionsgate and MH not working together anymore and CS does not even appear on their press list for November/December 2011. How strange. The reason given by one source for their allegedly parting company was poor sales for the DVD (what do you expect at Β£14.99, or even Β£10 for just over an hour?) add to that the viewing figures for the repeats have not even registered on the BARB’s top 10 lists for every channel for a while. That would explain it, and also why they’d not released the last few Lives, Norfolk+Prague and Gettysburg or the Midsummer Murders series.
Still, they’ve got the magazine columns now, so that should give them something to focus on, keep the fans informed and win hearts and minds… Or just use it as a means to settle old scores. One or the other…
