Not long ago there was a young guy, real macho type into rugby etc
Then had a serious head injury… eventually he gets better but is now a completely different person. Now gay with no interest in any of his previous hobbies etc.
And he is now a hairdresser.
Now you could argue that he was maybe in the closet and after a near death experience said sod the pretence. But there are so many stories. And until you brought this up i never really put it together.
I mean theres the stories of people speaking a foreign language or becomming geniuses it goes on and on…….
And theres that BIG part of the brain that is not used ???? is it taking in stuff and then using it or is it storing past lifes and then becoming that life…….? or are they walk\ins you know that possession thing?

I managed to watch GAdventures with the good Doc yesterday. He was charming and full of great dramatic patter. Not on it for long did kinda leave you wanting him to be more involved in the actual investigation but good to see him.
The GA team are so different well they have changed there format a bit. They still call there investigation ‘lock down’ but its not really as they got to leave the caves through the night ??? so, anyway it was ok they got some evps and done some crazy invocation. Was good to see more of the place and round abouts and nice touch visiting the Red Dragon (think that was the pubs name) where Suki worked although all a bit jokey at times, suppose if you were a regular viewer you would be more used to it.
Are you watching G\Lab ?, they had a real meow moment. They went to a place called Shanley Hotel, i thought it was a mistake and they were going to The Stanley , but no. N\mind there were tappings and one of the Kling bros states boldly ‘oh now, none of the tappings … we are not that kind of group we have higher standards than that….’ erm wonder what group he meant mmmmm.
Hope you enjoy Dr C in GA really he will be missed.

So do I, it sort of plays on your mind when you’re watching S3-6 MH, even in late S2. Although I’d heard from a number of sources that Derek read from a script, when the possessions started becoming more and more frequent, it does come to mind. Did you see that ‘Mary loves Dick’ clip? Remember the bit at the end where someone says “don’t tell me that was intentional” (I think the response was in the affirmative, then the words “does Derek win the £20?” to the response of “yeah!” That was more than a little incriminating for them all.
True, although Billy does see himself as very much a lone voice, or “Judas Medium” I think he said in the book he wrote with Ciaran.
Good that Richard and Derek have that warmth and friendship. Whatever you think of them as individuals, for Richard to stand by Derek through thick and thin, and to go through everything that they’ve had thrown at them (by way of accusations and workplace politics) like that is showing real friendship and loyalty and Derek is very lucky to have that true friendship from Richard. (Ok, wrap it up now, Vicki, you’re commenting on a friendship, not marrying them.)
She is a lovely puppy, and you’re right, Sunny does look very cuddly. He has another photo of her on his Twitter page. There are a few more photos of her on Twitter, look for tweets with @SunnyViszla in them. By the looks of things, she’s settled into her new home very nicely. I wonder how she’s getting on with Ming and Mao?
When we brought Meg home, Cleo wouldn’t come downstairs for five years, we were welcome to see and make a fuss of her, but she didn’t like the dog (first time they met, Meg was jumping around Cleo trying to play with her, Cleo just waited until Meg stopped and boxed her on the nose! XD )

All the local schools get to go to the manor to do that themed day. It’s so much fun when you’re a kid, but we do have to duck into a room when the kids are going past to make sure they they keep the Victorian/Edwardian experience going for them. They don’t tell them about the reported ghosts of the manor, I’d have loved that side of things when I visited it as a kid, but I appreciate that it’s not for everyone.

I’d like to see more of Dr. John Callow (remember him? He was on the MHL: Eight Faces of Evil and was part of the MHL: Silent Town team. He seemed interesting and I think they should give him a go (he was also on Yvette Fielding’s Night of Fright, I don’t know if any of you got to see it; if you did, was it any good?)
We will miss the good doctor if he’s not coming back (and it seems that way at present), but he’s got so much going on with his wedding and his tutoring post at Bucks New University. I’m pleased that he’s keeping busy, but I will miss him in MH.
Did you hear him on radio a few months back? I was told that he and Steve would be on a radio show and I tuned in to hear what he would say. This was a fair old while ago. He spoke of the “worrying trend” in paranormal investigation teams who claim not to be remotely psychic and whom activity seems to happen to. He said that they say “I’m as psychic as… [example of something not remotely psychic e.g. baked potato]” and yet they are the ones who always seem to get the phenomena. Honestly, if you haven’t seen Yes, Minister/Yes, Prime Minister, it is brilliant satire, even though it was written in the 70s, it’s still as relevant and hilarious today. XD
That is very strange when that happens, I don’t know why it happens, but it also happens to people who have had strokes, my Nan’s second husband had a stroke and his personality completely changed afterwards. It would seem to be something to do with the brain, but I’m not sure how having a new organ would influence the brian.
There’s a film called The Eye, and it’s about a blind woman who has a cornea transplant and she starts having visions. I won’t spoil the ending, but it is a very interesting idea. 🙂

I know, I can’t wait to read it. There was a brief alluding to his time on MH in his The Psychic Adventures of Derek Acorah, I was flicking through it in a bookshop to find the bits about MH for clues. It was written while he was still in favour, so I’ll be fascinated to read what he says now. Nice to have two sides to the story, and who knows, the devil might not be as black as he is painted.
Did you see Billy Roberts’ new one? I saw it was available to read a preview on Amazon and I came across a bit about Derek and the Kreed Kafer incident. It was interesting, because he’s a friend of Ciaran and he (Billy, not Ciaran) was saying that it does not prove that Derek himself is a fake, just that there were incidents of fraud. This ties into what I say about distinguishing between a fake medium and a medium who fakes things. Although I am still sceptical of Derek, and there were scripts on MH that he was reading from by various accounts, there’s still the odd “Hmm… That’s interesting.” Billy Robert’s new book is about the ‘Psychology of a Medium’.
I think that’s why I never warmed to him, David Wells must be treated with respect.

I would feel like a bit of a pratt calling out, but maybe I’ll get that confidence, maybe start by saying “hello” when I walk in, that’ll work with the most recent Stanfords who lived there if any of them are hanging around. Ellen Stanford, John ‘Mad Jack’ Stanford and Charles Thomas Stanford have all reportedly been seen, but Charles was reportedly seen outside in the cemetery, not inside. It might even work with ‘Sister Agnes’ if she’s about (even though the word is not really of her time, she might have picked it up, she’s dead not daft.) Although she’s not been seen in living memory, not since her bones were found, make of that what you will.
Apparently it wasn’t used as a bathroom, it was used as a darkroom for developing photos taken by the lady herself (wonder if there were and spirits on any of them?) 😉
It was an experience, they had a butler and a housemaid and they took us on a tour of the Stanford’s bedroom and the servants rooms, the kitchen, the boot room, giving us a glimpse into their tasks and we were able to make food in the kitchens and it was so much fun. 😀

That’s what I was referring to when I spoke of the history between the two groups. I’d thought that peace might have been made, but I don’t know, not on FB, so I’m not party to what’s been said between the groups and their members.
People can be very strange about their fandoms, there’s a lot of nastiness in some of them; Torchwood being one of the worst offenders I’ve seen (although I’ve seen some very militant ‘Whovians’ in my time), people mocking the loss of a child of a woman who wanted Ianto back, death threats sent to members of the Save Ianto Jones movement. Then Russell T Davies calling Ianto fans “nine hysterical women” with “special needs” who can “go and watch Supernatural if [we] can’t handle drama!” It was a combination of these things that made me think “life’s too short for this s**t…” and I went and watched Supernatural instead, which is fast heading for Series 8 in October in the US, I think they said, with a view to doing Series 9 and 10. BTW, Sera Gamble’s left her post as Exec of SPN, so that’ll please a lot of Supernatural fans, if the “Worst Show Runner Ever” meme is anything to go by.
Yes, there does seem to be a great deal of contact between Simon and the gang. Glad that Access is going well, hopefully there will be good news for the fans soon.

Left my Mum Uncle & Aunty & Uncle cold. The words mockery sham were thrown at me when i arrived, i dont know maybe its an age thing but to each there own? and they did look the part, Bride pretty as a pic.
Roughly 1:33 Bride & Groom sod off to get pics taken all round Fife lol.
3:30 ish sat down to eat……. but wait there were 5 speaches first, and that lasted till 6:30.
My Mum was nearly pulling her hair out lots of unsavoury comments apparently so she was growling a bit too oh dear, my Uncle started sweating and got himself in such a state he said sorry i’m not well and left, my Aunty is as deaf as a post so sat twiddling her thumbs.
I arrived at 7 dreading it really awful, trying to supress a panic attact in taxi then remembering i’d forgotton my inhaler?????? Place was mobbed, a sea of Kilts (got knocked silly a couple of times by the swish of Tartan and nearly lost an eye to some Sporrans)
Everywhere you looked you seen Posh & Becks and Katie Price, quite terrifying (must get out more, mmm oh cant have Cats to feed lol)
Almost fell out of the taxi, such grace, Mum tried to fix me up with some man??? (i ran of course so she was not pleased for a bit) he had money apparently ooo she is so romantic.
Left by 10, i know i’m a bore but really its the strangest wedding i have ever been to and was not in the mood so.
Felt like pale face, we all (our table) looked smart but very pale in comparison to the rest. Who i think used up all the fake tan in Fife. Did speak to a woman (Brides Aunty Fathers side) who had just got back from Peru so that was ok.
Bit what do they say all fur coat and no knickers??? and the fellas, well i’m sure they had there boxers on (of course i have no proof) and what do they call a Kilt with undies on A SKIRT!!

I didn’t mind Steve, but I don’t think we had the time to warm to him. MInd you, that time when he started giving David Wells the same treatment as Ciaran gave Derek (the looking around the room, looking at EMF Meter, looking bored) did make me think “Oi! Steve! Noooooooooo!!!”
I think it was in the episode at the Old Church House Inn, in fact, I’m sure it was.
I make a point of spending time in the rooms that I know have ghost stories attached to them, dust something, generally mind my own business and see what happens. Maybe it will, I did once ask in hushed tones (feeling very self conscious) for something to happen once, the radiator clunked, then it did that in two more rooms when I walked in, but that was quickly put down to central heating. Oh well, you never know what might happen in the future. Might call out properly one day.
I did get a very bad feeling from one of the bathrooms, but that was most likely because it was very dark, it was fine when the shutters were open.
Yes, Preston Manor is beautiful. I remember the first time I visited, I was in year 5 (so about 10) and we were dressed up as Victorians (even though the building in its current form is mostly Edwardian, there are pictures of Edward and Alexandra on the walls in quite a few rooms, but there’s a big one of Victoria in one of the rooms the kids go in) and it was just a very magical place, I visited it a few times and now I get to go there every week. 😀 I do sometimes picture the MH team (the series 8 team) around the table in the library, getting scared when the doorbell rings, or in the Cleves room, or any of the other rooms (somebody might as well write ‘David Wells and Ciaran O’Keeffe woz ere 06’ in them. XD )

It was fascinating, if very morbid.
The victims, if they returned as ghosts, may not know that they are dead. They were given Laudanum which would have sent them off to sleep, then they were lowered into a well head first, so they drowned without waking or having the chance to struggle. It left no marks, and the Laudanum didn’t leave much of a trace, so it was a very clever way to kill them (not that I condone it.)
B&H were just before Bishop and Williams and served as an inspiration for B&W bodysnatching ring.
I’m sure the irony of it was not lost on them.
She is the boss and we’re all ‘under the paw’ as the title of a book by a cat man goes.
Reg’s mum and dad got home yesterday, so his whole family is back together now. 🙂

Oh dear, well, the best of luck with the wedding, I hope it isn’t as awkward as that. I know there can be a lot of politics and protocol within family, which can be very tricky. Then there’s the relations whom you only ever meet at weddings and funerals, who then take your address and send you a round robin every Christmas telling you that they’ve got a new car and how they’ve redesigned the back garden and now the shed is on the other side and how “a chance remark made us re-think the design of the spare bedroom…” (I kid you not, this letter genuinely exists.)

Sometimes I do look around, or hear a thud from across the room, but usually that’s because I’ve shifted my weight a bit and it’s caused the end of the floorboards to creek or thud. I do want to try calling out, but I would feel very self conscious doing it. Though nothing’s really happened yet, every week I hope that something unexplainable will happen, although it’s more likely to happen if I’m not thinking about it “a watched pot…” and all.
I’ve just been channel hopping and seen a short program about the London body snatchers in the 1830s, Bishop and Williams and how they, inspired by Burke and Hare, stole bodies from cemeteries. When these were not enough, they would drug people from pubs with Laudanum and drown them, take their teeth for the dentists and the bodies for the anatomy professors. Like Burke and Hare, they both tried to save themselves, but they were both hung, their bodies, ironically enough, used for anatomy study.
It was difficult because it’s her safe place, so I wanted to make sure she was feeling safe in it, but on the other hand, poor Reg. Good that his family are all going to be back together tomorrow.
One time, Artie was waiting to pounce on the dog who had just come in, she jumped through the laundry stand and nearly strangled herself on a bra strap! XD She struggled out of it with our help (and sympathetic chortling), but it served her right.

Maybe, it is very strange that it’s just disappeared into thin air. I’ve just checked Chris Conway’s ‘Likes’ and it was on there, but now it’s gone, checked Richard Felix’s website and he’s got a list of vigils and ghost hunts that he’s doing for the rest of the year (though I think that most of that was already up before Psychic and Science disappeared, as there’s only one event in October and there were a few P&S events then.) The Compass Paranormal pages don’t say much, although it did say that a show was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, but that show could just be a radio broadcast that was cancelled, the P&S Twitter page says nothing about it, so I don’t know what’s going on there.
I’d not heard about The Gift, which channel is it on?
That’s always something to be aware of, the angle they’re trying to put on it, MH is the same. Remember that big light anomaly during Series 7 that looked like it had a face in it? Steve Parsons said they (the whole group) found out it was a cobweb, but that explanation never got to the actual program.

I don’t think it was bad judgement, it was interesting.
Unfortunately I haven’t got the job, mind you I wasn’t expecting to get the job, but I would have liked an interview (for the experience and all), but they must have so many people applying with better qualifications, or with more experience, or both. Oh well, I’m enjoying the voluntary jobs I’ve got, researching interesting things, working in a lovely historic haunted house and getting further with the family tree and it’s all very interesting. I’d still like a job, but I can’t see that happening any time soon, so, for the foreseeable future, you’re stuck with me. 😉
Sad not to be cat-sitting for Reg anymore. 🙁 Artie met Reg when he followed me home one day, she saw him through the window and he jumped up the other side of the glass, cue a bit of tail swishing from Artie, a hiss from Reg when she got too close and a big “Oi!” from me when the black cat from across the road came into the garden ready to attack Reg. It looked like a scrapper, it had a very bloodshot, wounded-looking eye and looked like it had been in a few fights, so I didn’t want her attacking my boy.
Reg sat on the doorstep wanting to come in for ages that afternoon, I went out to play with him a few times, then he followed me back home in the evening, he sat outside meowed, and watched the door and windows. We felt so guilty when it started to rain and he was sheltering in the hedge to be near us because he was lonely. Then he sheltered under something outside the door. I took him home gave him some treats but he still followed me home again. It was heart breaking to see him all alone in the cold wet weather but he couldn’t come in because of Artie. Eventually he left, then one of his housemates came home the following day, so he wasn’t lonely anymore. I did enjoy going over and spending ages playing with him, he loved the attention, but it’s difficult when he had nobody living there with him.

There conclusion ……… they could not debunk! even with missing out vital facts of the case so ….. still stands true.

I had a dream a few years back erm …… ok i’ll tell you all but it is weird.
I found myself walking towards the Square Tower recognised it straight away used to play there when i was a kid. It was eerie very real like….. almost dark as i reached the paved slabbed area i was all of a sudden on the top of the Tower. There were 4 people there i recognised one from my childhood i maybe played with him twice but seen him around you know.
Anyway before i knew it i was back on the ground and a voice said look up i seen a figure falling onto me! then woke up.
Was very strange, around 4 days later i was at my Mums and she got a phone call from an old friend …… she told her that this kid (same kid from my dream) had died from falling off the Square Tower i nearly fainted when she told me………..
Left me with lots of ???????????? i have never answered! & like you it still haunts me.
What fascinates me is the spontaneous out of the blue psychic experiences ?????

There certainly are things that come up with some of them that do have me stumped as far as an explanation goes. Confusing though it is, I love those moments!
Did you see a snippet in The Psychic Adventures of Derek Acorah where he’s talking about the beginning of MH? (A friend tipped me off to read that bit, so I did and it was certainly an illuminating read) In one part, he had a message for Karl and goes into what Karl said when he had verified it, I got a very strange look in the shop when I read that! XD
It’s clear that they are very close and there is warmth there. I couldn’t help but wonder a few years ago whether Richard always thought that what they’d done to Degsy was underhand and he didn’t like it. You could see his and Yvvy’s relationship under a bit of tension as she froze him out too (probably because he was too close to Derek, although I don’t think he ever gave him info, I think that was someone else, Richard just took the blame for it, I think.)
I meant to say about Brian teaming up with Degsy and Richard, that must put Antix’ noses out of joint a bit, he was their medium and now he’s working with the enemy (or rather enemies!) XD
Also, I’ve noticed MHTNG have got a few ‘exclusives’ from Chris Burton, nothing to get excited about news wise, but interesting, he seems to have risen in the ranks of late, but not so much that I’d have to update the Antix Hierarchy pyramid (Yvette at the top, then Karl and Fred on the next level, then Stu, Cath and Phil on the next, then Chris Burton, Matt Chance and Simon Lucas with a space left for others such as Simon Healy and maybe Jamie Hand.)
They’ve gone to some good sties, MH, I’d love to go inside Michelham Priory one day, I’ve been in the grounds and the mill, but never actually inside it.
I’m looking forward to investigating Mary King’s Close in October. 😀

I visited as a child the caves in Castleton, Derbyshire, and i found them intriguing and most beautiful and mystical too so i reckon i was a weird kid into all things unusual and out the ordinary well some thing dont change lol,i’d quite like to visit the Cheddar Gorge as MH went there and there was that room with loads of mirrors and archs with victorian looking oddities too and i’ve always fancied Port Meiron in Wales quirky quirky places.

It’s lovely, yesterday he left me a bird right in the centre of the doormat and meowed at me. I made a big fuss of him and it was nice that he left that for me. I had to rescue a shocked baby mouse from him this afternoon. He’s lovely, but he’s a hunter.
I’m so glad that he’s found a loving home too and everyone in the street loves him, so he’s much better off now, it’s sad that people can be so cruel to them.
He followed me home last night. 🙂
He’s a different cat to the one that watches Artie. The black cat that watches her lives just opposite and still sometimes comes over. I think she was just mystified to see a cat that she didn’t know (just as Artie was, she’s still confused when I come back with Reggie’s scent on my hands. XD )
Yes, Artie can be like that when I stop her from doing something she wants to do, like scratch the wallpaper, she glares at me when I tell her off. She’s a naughty cat.

I don’t think that everyone has the ability of mediumship, but I don’t know about psychic abilities, some of them might depend on the person, but others might be more achievable.
PK, for instance, *might* be achievable for anyone, if the case of Annmarie Schneider is anything to go by. She was never found to have any ability and yet phenomena did manifest at that office, so either the group were faking it together, or she had some sort of powerful emotive energy, specifically in that office.
As for ESP, Telepathy is something that I don’t think everyone has the ability for so much, and the anecdotal evidence that people have (myself included) for instinctively ‘knowing’ what someone (seemingly 9 times out of every 10 a family member, friend or partner) is going to say could so easily be down to a deep knowledge of that person and how they think, their vocabulary (which often melds with your own and vice-versa) and their general mannerisms. Clairvoyance, of a kind, may be possible for anyone, although some people will have a stronger tendency towards it than others, as with any other ability. Precognition is an interesting one, people do claim to have dreams that have later materialised as reality, I had one such dream, and blamed myself when it happened (it involved my school SenCo going to Russia to help some children and she disappeared as though she was a ghost and she said something bad, about deaths of the children) later that week, a group of school children in Russia died. It was tragic, but the fact was that there was no way that I could have done anything to prevent it and the dream could only have been analysed in that way in retrospect. That’s the thing with precognition, it can only be validated in retrospect. Is it possible for anyone to do predict the future? I don’t know, maybe, but some future will be easier to predict; the clues that something was going to happen would be very obvious, e.g. a government losing more and more support, and annoying more and more people, will almost definitely lose the next election. Having said that, it may just be possible for some people to predict seemingly obscure things accurately, so maybe these people have an ability?
Also, maybe some people ignore their gut instincts or shut the possibility out too young? I don’t know.
Richard Wiseman did a great piece in a documentary on Nostradamus and his prediction, he played Nostradamus Roulette. He picked a colour and number (I can’t remember which, so I’ll say Black 23) and he kept playing the game until he got it, he knew it would come up because it was bound to happen eventually! It was a great piece of telly. XD
