She’s enjoying her present, a cork from a wine bottle, no point spending too much on a present, she’ll only prefer the box and she loves corks anyway. Watching her playing with her cork is hours of fun. XD
Only problem is, Dad’s painting the walls in the upper landing white, so she keeps brushing past door frames, walls and sticking her head through banisters and ending up with white paint alternately over her face, neck, sides and paws, thankfully, we knew she’d do that, so the paint is non-toxic. We’ve tried putting her in a bedroom until the paint’s a bit more dry, but we can’t keep her too far from her litter try, so we don’t know what else to do. I swear that’s a monkey in a cat’s body.

Anyway, I hope everyone’s ok and enjoying the weather (if the weather’s not so good, then cheer up, it’s Friday.) 🙂 xxx

Sorry i’m late went to Pets at Home in Kircaldy with my Mum.
We got back and then family barged in ooops visited. So …. i had to smile and be sociable its quite exhausting……..musn’t grumble lol.

Don’t get me started on busses, the bus that goes just outside my home is known for being particularly unreliable on that front, there’s often two at once, or the bus is eight minutes early and you miss it, or they’re late and still insist on waiting for 15 minutes at the stadium, you have to allow 15-30 minutes on top of journey time to allow for what the bus might be doing. The worst ones are when they see you running and pull away and drive off, they must love doing that. Grr… >:-/

She’s a very happy birthday girl, she’s four years old today (1st September, Hogwarts Day!) and she definitely knows it’s her birthday. XD She’s being very affectionate, wanting attention and wanting to play. 😀

D’you know, David and Chris are at the top of my “never met, but should have” list, same with Gordon and Chris. Also, there’s another guy, a friend of David’s called Kyle Gray, he’s an angel whisperer and I first heard of him quite a while ago, and I’ve been reading up on him, I’m curious to see more of him, because his work interests me and if David is a kind of mentor to him, which I think would be fascinating to watch too (and yes, he is a Scot, I seem to have a knack for finding them. XD )
He should have insisted upon it, and maybe he did, but if TPTBeattie said no, then there’s not a lot he could do, unfortunately. It must be frustrating if that was the case, as that would create a barrier between him and doing his job.
That’s ok, I know what you mean re: Patrick Matthews, he deserved the snark and absolute scorn that Ciaran lavished upon him. XD
He was one of the Antix 8, Patrick M, so that’s another reason I don’t like him, he helped the others gang up on Chris 8-on-1, in my book, that’s reason enough not to like anyone. At least Ciaran made amens for what he said.

They might do, CBS were showing old GH episodes, so they might pick it up, alternately, I think it was DMAX (owned by the Discovery Channel) who screened Ghost Lab, so they might pick it up (a bit less likely, admittedly, but it’s still possible if they’re interested, mind you, they’ve dropped GL, so maybe not) or alternatively, PickTV have taken MH on, so they might be looking to expand into paranormal TV, so they could pick it up.

Poor guy, it must be hard, if anyone ever feels unsafe in their own home, then that’s not right, but for one so young to be convinced, whether rightly or wrongly, that there was something evil in their home, either because of their parents, or because of anything they might have experienced personally is concerning. I’ll explain that a bit more, he may or may not have initially thought that something was there, but the thing that would really make a young one feel scared would be to see their parents, the ones whom they look to for comfort and protection, so terrified. I’ve felt that kind of thing in funerals, at Nannie’s (Mum’s mum) funeral, two things upset me the most, one was seeing the coffin, the other was seeing Mum and Dad so distraught, it was just the same at Ray’s (Dad’s dad) funeral.
That was, of course assuming that they didn’t fake the haunting, which may still have harmed their boy, they might have genuinely believed it, or they might have maybe been exposed to something which played with their senses (whether that cause was something that they were exposed to environmentally, or whether it was something they took, like cannabis, for instance.)
I hope he gets a chance to tell his side, that will be very interesting to see/read. I’ve just seen the Facebook page for ‘My Amityville Horror’ and it does look very interesting. 🙂
I’ve seen a cover of the 1970s book on Amityville and it says that it’s “more hideously frightening than The Exorcist because it actually happened!” that caused a raised eyebrow, because The Exorcist is based on a true story too.

Have you heard of ‘Kitlers’? They are cats that have markings that look a bit like Hitler’s hair and tash, they are so funny. XD

It is frightening how he was able to obtain all those diplomas for his cat, and he finally decided to come forward and say that he was proving a point when a journalist emailed Zoe, or at least the email address that he’d used to sign her up for all those ‘qualifications,’ asking if she could give some advice for an article they were writing about painless childbirth. XD

You would be, they have proven medical benefits (so do any other loved pets,) they have been proven to lower high blood pressure, calm people with anxiety conditions, lower stress levels and extend the life of their housemates by doing these, and that’s just from stroking them. The purr in an incredibly soothing sound too. I suffer from anxiety that comes with my Asperger’s and I find that the repetitive motion of stroking Artie and the tactile nature of her fur is very calming and hearing her purring is always guaranteed to make me smile. When I was sad because of the trolls earlier this year, she came running into my room and jumped up on my bed, rubbed her head on my hip, purred and jumped down again, that cheered me up no end. XD

I’m sure it will, I can’t wait to soak up the history and atmosphere in Edinburgh, you get a sense of it just by looking at Edinburgh, so I can’t begin to imagine what it’s like actually being there. 😀

It makes me laugh that someone on Wiki clearly hasn’t taken to MH’s ‘Master of the Dark Arts’ as they’ve put ‘historian’ and ‘demonologist’ in quotation marks when referring to him, they also deleted him from the team list, and it wasn’t even me, although, I did delete a bit about him that was in David Wells’ Wiki page as it was not relevant in the slightest, it would have been relevant in a Wiki page about Fred Batt, but not in David Wells’ page.

You never know, we might prefer Dr. John Callow to Lesley, I was always less keen on her than I was on Richard, but then she left and John was ok, then Miriam was there and I don’t really like her, I think they must have booked her with a view to going to Egypt, because she is an arabic/middle eastern historian mostly, she was on a show with Dr Dominic Montserrat (R.I.P. died in 2004 of hemophilia aged only 40, tragic loss) and she shouted his voice of reason down through most of it, so I held that against her. Then Lesley came back and immediately started laying into Chris (well, why not? Everyone else was) and I quickly forgot why I missed her. Then we had Fred and he was never comfortable when he was the focus, but I’ll refrain from saying too much because it’s his birthday tomorrow, mind you, I went to double check that and he’d taken it down, so quite how I could call a ceasefire if I didn’t know when to is beyond me (I remembered it because it’s the day after my lovable ball of fluff’s birthday.)

Vampires are fascinating and reading up about the mythology around them is intriguing.
True Blood? I’ve heard a lot about it and I don’t think it’s scary as such, from what I’ve heard it’s more a paranormal romance series, James Goss (a writer for Doctor Who and other sci-fi) called it “Stephen Moyer nekked shagging hour” which I found particularly amusing. XD

The first part has been good and I’m sure the rest will be, but it’s just a bit slow as the Demeter crashes into Whitby, the article is seriously boring me, sloppy bit of journalism, Kate Reed (Kate Reed was the name of the writer, she was in early drafts of the novel, back when it was called The Undead, but she was axed from the final draft of Dracula.)
From the moment I read the blurb and article, I though “Must. Read. Book.” So I’m really looking forward to the ‘Anno Dracula’ series. 😀
It was banned because some idiots thought that it would be safe to let their kids watch it on Halloween, it was on in the late evening, but they thought ‘never mind the time, it can’t be too scary, it’s got an ex-Blue Peter presenter on it.’ [facepalm] These are probably the parents of the idiots who let their kids watch the first few episodes of Torchwood at 9 and 10pm because it was a Doctor Who spin off, so it must be the same thing, then they complained to the BBC and the Daily Fail about it (see that time slot there? It’s called the Watershed and it exists for a reason you fecking idiot.) Sorry about the ranting, but stupid people really irritate me.
It would be a great time to bring it back, the next big anniversary is 25 years in 2017, so if they don’t do it now, then they need to do it then.

Absolutely!!!!! i remember Yvette being surprised when location owners did not allow them to do the spirit board, she was quite put out and amazed. Pepe was playing with this massive spider when i came in from the wedding omg it ran under the couch and i had to wait for ages before i got a cuppa coffee for it coming out. Glass in hand, but i saved him in the end. So Pepe is not the best hunter! to my knowledge he has only ever caught 1 bird (thankfully) he was soooo chuffed. Artie sounds so much fun x and they love an audience.

I can understand why the owners are not pleased with MH’s investigations there, I don’t think I would be, if I believed that my home/workplace was haunted then it’s all well them antagonizing the spirit, but I’d be the one who’d have to put up with anything that happened because of that (even if that was only psychological.)

You’re right about them needing funds, though, most of these places are crumbling and need all the money they can get to stay standing, so I can see why they do it.
They get some cracking places to visit, I’d love to get a chance to see these places (got a few under my belt already, but I’ve never investigated them in the proper sense.

It was a frustrating one today, I was attempting scrying, but I couldn’t concentrate properly, my mind kept clouding over and I kept looking away from my reflection, something was distracting me, probably hunger, as it was close to lunchtime, but it was irritating.

We had an equivalent of ‘Bloody Mary’ in primary school, the ‘Candyman’, the girls would say it three times and turn the light out and they were supposed to see him in the mirror (no it wasn’t the slightly suspect caretaker) they’d turn the lights back on after a moment most of the time, it was only a problem when they’d turn the lights off and run out while people were still in the loo, that was a bit annoying.

XD Watching her attempting to hunt is another one, she was batting this spider under the door and it ran under and away and she rushed around to get the spider and it was long gone and she was still scratching about under the doorframe. XD She’s a useless hunter, but it’s hours of fun to watch her try. XD

The Victorians were very paranoid about being buried alive, if they fell into a coma or something. I can see why, but at least now they are sure most of the time that the person is actually dead when they say they are, although some people are still mentally conscious when they’re declared dead, but that is very rare.

It sounds like a charged atmosphere, and that will play on people’s minds while they are trying to investigate it, it would be impossible not to think of all the fascinating history, the connotations attached to the inverted pentagram, the Native American burial ground and the prison itself and the sort of environment it would have been when people were there would be heavy. There comes a point where a place is saturated with so much history and symbology that it is almost hard to breathe. It can be like that at times at PM, it suddenly hits you that this is a place where a family lived, there were always people on the land, the monks from the church, the interrogation by a man of Cromwell’s on supposed Royalists from Patcham (which I only learned about today when I suddenly glanced up and saw a picture on the wall tucked in a corner; I’d only been thinking earlier “why are there so many images of Cromwell in this house (and did Karl see it)?” There’s a *lot* of angel iconography there and Egyptian motifs) then there’s the Stanfords themselves and all their angst and joy.
Anyway, I digress. The inverted pentagram is an interesting one, although the point down pentagram is used as a symbol of Satanism, it is also used (I read online somewhere) to draw in energy, so that was interesting. Interesting also that it is a symbol of the sacred female and it is viewed as evil (hold me back!)
I love a mystery too and trying to see all the threads and how they tie together is great fun. 🙂

I saw Fact or Faked last weekend and they tried to explain ectoplasm using dry ice, now I wasn’t there when the original photos were taken, but I don’t know that they’d have had ready access to dry ice in a supposedly controlled environment (and where would the medium have hidden it while smuggling it in?) Mediums were known to have used trickery including objects like cheesecloth to fake ectoplasm in the past, so that’s where I would have started if I’d been them.

I’m sure if there’s any news, Simon will be here with it hot off the press. 🙂

I don’t know who was there, but David’s “I’ll see you very soon” to Anna at the start of August did seem to hint at his presence at the wedding.
You might have thought that Yvvy and Karl and a few others would be there, and maybe they were, but there was no acknowledgement of Ciaran’s wedding from either of them to my knowledge (beginning to sound like Sir Humphrey now XD ) so I’m not sure as they were there. :-/

There might be pictures to come of the happy couple, I’m keeping an eye on Ciaran’s FB and Twitter and Anna’s Twitter (her FB is not public, wow, that doesn’t sound stalky.)

In all seriousness (and very sorry to sound like a miserable old doubting Thomas again) but we don’t know what underlying health problems the owners have had, the metallic taste could be down to another condition that could also cause the other symptoms. Other conditions which might have the same root cause may also cause fitting or other such symptoms. Sorry, I’m not too sure about the exact conditions, but maybe it’s an alternative explanation? Whatever the cause, the article was fascinating and thank you for posting it.
